Anna Kowalska who played at Kent State is in her second season as the head women's basketball coach. Before taking over as head coach, the Zdunska Wola, Poland native was the assistant under Coach Jenna Everhart for six seasons. She has also held positions such as assistant to the athletic director (six years) and head volleyball coach (three seasons) while at WVU Tech.
Kowalska began her collegiate basketball career at John A. Logan Junior College, playing in 2006 & 2007. She completed her career as a Golden Flash of Kent State, playing in 2008 & 2009.
As a Golden Flash, the forward earned many accolades including: Academic All-MAC Team (2008 & 2009), All-MAC First Team (2009), All-MAC Third Team (2008), five-time MAC player-of-the-week, and the Golden Flash Award (highest team award) and MVP.
In her senior year, Anna led the Kent State team in many categories - points per game (16.1), rebounds per game (8.1), blocked shots per game (1.8), field-goal percentage (53.3), and free-throw percentage (75.4).
Anna brings experience from the DI level from being a graduate assistant coach at Kent State, 2010 - 2012.
Kowalska earned her master's degree in Sports Administration from Kent State.
