MONTGOMERY, West Virginia - The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) announced the National All-American and All-Academic teams during the national tournaments, ending the 2015 fall seasons.
WVU Tech is proud to have multiple students who have earned these accolades through perseverance and hard work, on and off the field.
Student-athletes earn All-Academic honors by being an upperclassmen who has earned a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher over the course of their academic career. The Golden Bears landed two men's cross country student-athletes on this list including senior
Adam Westrick and sophomore
Cai Carena.
The USCAA honors 15 First Team, 15 Second Team and several Honorable Mention student-athletes for their outstanding performance on the field/course for most sports to make up the All-American team. The men's soccer team of WVU Tech boasted four players on the All-American team while women's soccer had three athletes and golf two.
On first team All-American, men's soccer has senior
Raul Martin, junior
Drew Lytton and sophomore Fransico Neto. Golfers freshman
Matt Ryan and senior
Steven Han earned first and second team All-American accolades respectively. Juniors
Shelby Swiney (second team) and
Alexandra Klein (honorable mention) and sophomore Tristan Kilman represent the All-Americans for women's soccer.
