MONTGOMERY, West Virginia - Senior Nia Nola of WVU Tech women's basketball was named the 2014-15 Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Division I Women's Player of the Year and senior Blake Nash of California State University San Marcos earned A.I.I. Division I Men's Player of the Year accolades.
Nolan, a guard from Dayton, Ohio averaged 18.0 points and 4.6 assists a game in 30 contests for Tech. The Phoenix, Arizona native and guard Nash finished the regular season averaging 6.1 assists and 2.286 steals per game for the Cougars.
Joining Nolan on the A.I.I. All-Conference first team were freshman Kamya Thomas from Allen University, seniors Heather Thompson and Cassandra Damyanovich of Cal State San Marcos and representing Morris College was junior Baylee Hawkins.
Golden Bear senior Jauries Thomas became a member of the All-Conference first team with Nash, sophomore Tyrus Fleetwood from Washington Adventist University, William McGuire of Allen and Richmond Jackson, Fisk University.
