BECKLEY, West Virginia -- The 2016 River States Conference Men's and Women's Cross Country Championship Meet hosted by WVU Tech is scheduled for Saturday, November 5 at The Summit Bechtel Reserve near Beckley, West Virginia.
The women's 5K will begin at 11 a.m. with the men's 8K scheduled to follow at 12 p.m. Results will be posted at
RiverStatesConference.com following the meet.
The meet is the NAIA national qualifier for teams and individuals from the conference. The men's and women's team champions will receive the conference's automatic bids to the NAIA National Championship Meet November 19 in Elsah, Illinois. Individual qualifiers will also advance from the conference with the top four individuals not from the championship team qualifying for nationals.
The all-conference awardees will be determined based on the final results of the championship meet. The top seven finishers will earn RSC first-team honors and the next seven finishers will make the RSC second team. Individual awards for RSC Runner of the Year, Coach of the Year and Newcomer of the Year will also be selected.
